The artwork I am using is Bedroom in Arles, 1888 by Vincent van Gogh.

This is a painting of a bedroom. In the painting, there are bed, chairs, table, window, towel, and clothes hanging on hooks on the wall, a mirror and portraits on the wall. Vibrant colours of green, yellow, brown and blue are used in the painting. The doors and wall are painted in blue and the floor is painted in wooden brown. A brighter orange brown was used for the bed frame and on the bed are yellow pillows and bed sheet. Reddish brown was used for the blanket. The artist used thick lines in this artwork. Furniture in this room are mostly outlined using a contrasting colour such as the brown table with black outlines. The colours used in this artwork makes me feel calm as I look at it. It also gives off a feeling of coziness. The green lines on the brown floor highlights the marks on the floor which makes the artwork more realistic. The contrasting outline colours make the furniture stand out which makes the artwork dreamy but yet at the same time, realistic. I think this is a beautiful artwork. The artist applied the elements of art effectively and successfully evokes a feeling of calmness and rest in me. I think the bold colours used in this artwork play a big part in this. The thick lines used emphasises freedom and openness such as freeing the mind from thoughts and stress.

Music is what I think will enhance my creativity. When I need to think, I listen to music with earphones and turn the volume up until I cannot hear the surrounding noises. Doing this allows me to concentrate on my thoughts as all I can hear is the music. Strange but I cannot think in silence and although the music is loud, I don’t even hear the music when I start thinking.
